Waiting to wait for the Cinematheque

Every 6 months or so, cinemaddicts like myself have the pleasure of waiting and waiting and waiting for the Cinematheque to finally announce its schedule for the upcoming season. The anticipation… it’s a slow burn. Unfortunately, I’m not here to say that the wait is over (in fact, it’s only just begun), but there is some news to break: A visit to the Cinematheque’s website reveals that the first two screenings in the Fall program will be Vincente Minelli’s musical Meet Me in St. Louis (1944) on September 4th and the Harold Lloyd comedy Kid Brother (1927) on September 5th. Whether this means that we can expect some sort of Minelli and/or Lloyd retrospective this Fall is anyone’s guess; it’d certainly be pretty cool.
