A deserving read: Ignatiy Vishnevetsky on images

Over at the Auteurs Notebook, Ignatiy Vishnevetsky has written a thought-provoking meditation on the difficult relations between images, history, cinema and artistic creativity. The piece has no apparent thesis, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. If you enjoy the image-oriented musings of Jean-Luc Godard, Serge Daney or André Bazin, you’ll probably find this piece very interesting.
